Mum's Cactus

Don't know why it keeps coming out sideways. Anyway this is my Mum's Christmas cactus. Only it never flowers at Christmas, nor at Easter. Don't think it's a cactus either, perhaps it's a succulent.

The thing is it's in flower now, which is unusual even for this little chap. I like to think it flowers when it knows I need it to.

I am very reflective at the moment. It's been a long twelve months and just coming out of a sort of mist.

And there are these lovely red flowers every time I open my front door.

Thank Goodness For Zeppelin

Start of summer break - I should be really really happy, right? Hmm think the adrenaline high has gone and left me in the doldrums.

So I did what I always do and went to the seaside!

Had lunch on the seafront then wandered around a bit. Felt heaps better. Then ......Lost car park ticket and had to pay a full day ...... back to grumpy!

Drove home with Led Zeppelin on Loud! TGFZ

the end of an era

Today has been tinged with a little sadness as it was probably the last time I shall facilitate a tutorial at Tunbridge Wells. I have been going there for a few years now and although the stairs nearly take all my breath away, the staff are excellent and provide great help with IT and accommodation. Pretty good facilities as well. It feels like every year I have met a rather special group of people and I always learn at least as much from them as vice versa.

I always prepare and then generally completely change what I am doing in light of the discussion that takes off!

Oh well got to be reflection in action - eh?

We seem to always get a good turn out and quite often have to raid other rooms for extra chairs.

So sort of the end of an era for me; but the next challenge is to build on what has become a thriving online forum and develop the ideas for next year's group. Onward and upwards.

I have come to love that view of Kent from the A21 (I've mentioned it before) but I'll see it again because I've also come to love the shops. Found a great cafe today in the an arts/theatre centre - sat for ages with friend, chatted, looked at books etc. Wonderful.
