the mint has run amok

A lovely day for the start of British Smmer Time. I sowed some tomatoes, salad, carrots, beans and squash. The mint that has over wintered has gone a bit crazy!

Then I just sat (there were more jobs I should have done!) and read in the sun, listened to the birds and the bumble bees. Very nice.

So what did I learn today? Perhaps that simple things are still the best and what a lucky person I am.

pot, lice, mice and joy

I suppose it is of no significance that two of the poems by Burns that are very well known are To a Louse and To a Mouse.

The best laid schemes o' Mice an' Men, Gang aft agley, An' lea'e us nought but grief an' pain, For promis'd joy!

But I do find joy in unexpected places at times: making a pot, knitting, a trip to the seaside, a chat with a kindred spirit.
Haven't posted for a while but . surely learning is sometimes about unlearning or relearning; in other words, is learning about reflection, perturbation but mostly joy!

I bought myself some roses to cheer me up - and they did the trick!

They teach me once again the power of nature
