textiles etc.

Had a smashing day out by myself yesterday at the Kaffe Fassett exhibition at the Fashion and Textile Museum in Bermondsey Street. I started with a mooch around Hays Galleria then a stroll down said street, remembering a day 30 years ago when I was late for my first day at a new job and ran all the way from London bridge Station to Drummond Road - the school is long gone and so is the factory that was next door. Brilliant exhibition anyway. Then on to the Design Museum through the gentrified streets near Tower Bridge.

It had been raining and the pavement was wet as I walked back along the riverside so it was a grey day but the sun was trying to break through. I also remembered half term outings as a young mum.

Back to meet the Other Half for a date night in Borough Market. Very nice too and home and tucked up by 9pm!

Today I've been roaming the Sussex countryside with my two good friends and then home to start thinking more about textiles with a bit of T shirt chopping up - now, what to make ....

Solomon's Seal

I don't know why this plant has this name; I'm sure there is a reason. I keep hoping it will spread but it doesn't, just the one every year. But it's lovely.

However, Penstemons and Heucheras are springing up everywhere! Sadly so it the ground elder!

It may not be too late to gather some nettles for soup or fritters later.

and the sun is out!
